UKAS Accreditation E-Certificates
The UKAS Accreditation E-Certificates will be launched on Monday the 9th of December.
What are E-Certificates?
The E-Certificates are a digital format of the printed certificates we already have. They will not replace them but it will mean that validating a Certification Bodies Accreditation is more transparent.
The certificate will additionally contain a QR code that can be scanned to validate.
There has also been a slight update to the design of the certificates.
UKAS have also created a video to show how the platform will work.
Why is UKAS Accreditation so important?
UKAS is the only government recognised Accreditation Body in the United Kingdom.
The competence of the Certification Body is not know without UKAS accreditation.

IAF CertSearch
IAF CertSearch is also due to become available in the very near future.
This database will only contain information on certificates held by companies who have used an Accredited Certification Body.
Non-UKAS certificates will NOT appear.
Coupled with the UKAS E-Certificates they will provide complete traceability for all UKAS certificates and accreditations.
This is why it is becoming more and more important to ensure that you are using a UKAS Accredited Certification Body.
This Week
We have been extremely busy this week with enquiries coming through for UKAS certification.
The enquiries have been extremely varied.
Firstly a manufacturer of paper stationery in Nuneaton who were looking for ISO 9001.
Also, a company in Romsey who are looking to transfer their certification over to Interface.
