At this time of year, Easter Eggs are available in abundance in our supermarkets, but it is vital to learn the importance of the packaging they are provided in.
How do you know if it is responsibly sourced?
You can look for either the FSC® or PEFC logo to find out if your forest-based products are responsibly sourced.
Forest-based products can be anything containing pulp, paper, wood, etc.
FSC® logo
FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) certification is fast becoming a requirement for any company displaying a responsible approach to purchasing wood or fiber-based products.

PEFC Logo
PEFC (The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) is an international independent organisation promoting Sustainable Forest Management.

Chain of Custody Certification
Chain of Custody certification shows that the products you purchase are responsibly sourced.
They provide a Chain and traceability right the way from the forest through to the end consumer.
If you see either of these trademarks you can be assured that these items are responsibly sourced.
Using the logo
If you are part of this chain and are wanting to display the logo on your products, then you must be certified in order to do so.
